Πέρασες καὶ εἶχες στὰ μαλλιὰ, 

ῥόδα καὶ φῶς καὶ εἶχες στὸ χέρι, 

κρῖνα λευκὰ καὶ στάχια ἀπ᾿ τὸν ἀγρό·

σὲ εἶδα καὶ εἶπα ἔφτασε τὸ καλοκαίρι. 

ma sei arrivata e sparco le spighe nell acqua,

le rose nell aria, e con un giglio ti sei fermata pallida, 

come un giorno d'autunno.

Μὰ ᾖρθες καὶ σκόρπισες τὰ στάχια στὸ νερό

,τὰ ρόδα στὸν ἀέρα, 

καὶ μὲ ἕνα κρίνο στάθηκες, ὠχρή,

 σὰ φθινοπώρου μέρα.

You passed and you had on hair, 

roses and light and in your hand, 

lilys white and ears from the fields, 

saw you and i said " the summer has come".

ma sei arrivata e sparco le spighe nell acqua,

le rose nell aria, e con un giglio ti sei fermata pallida, 

come un giorno d'autunno.

But you came and strow the ears in water, 

roses in the air, 

and with a lily stood, pale, 

like one autumn day.
